DSGN Associates was commissioned to design temporary, yet high quality, office space for a rapidly growing digital design consultancy, located in a 1920s historic auto parts building. The client was growing quickly in a dynamic business, and did not want to make a major investment in constructing a traditional space with fixed walls, elaborate finishes, and massive furnishings.

Due to the interim nature of the space, the DSGN design eschewed permanent construction in favor of rolling workstations, removable panels, and modular screens that could be easily dismantled and reassembled in a future long-term space. The historic elements of the building — concrete floors, exposed wood trusses, load-bearing masonry walls, were all left exposed and incorporated into the design. The only item to be removed to return the space to its pre-move-in condition was one six-foot high drywall partition.
