The Draper townhomes are a 24-unit complex of modern townhomes in Garland, Texas, targeted at the creative class of that growing town. The designs of the homes are a nod to the Mid-Century Modernism of the nearby 1962 Draper tower, and are inspired by residential design features of that era. These include open floor plans, expansive windows, low-slope roofs, honest, simple material palette of CMU, wood siding, and colorful accents.

The units are arranged around a series of landscaped “mews”, providing communal space to play, barbecue, greet, and relax with family and neighbors. Garages are tucked away on private drives, not directly visible to the mews or surrounding streets.

Each unit is about 2200 square feet on two levels, and includes an open living/dining/kitchen area, three bedrooms and a central flex area that can act as playroom, home office, workout or media space. Interior finishes include polished concrete floors on the ground level, with sustainable wood floors on the second floor. Other materials, including tiles and paint, are drawn from mid-century modern roots.
