Historic Reverchon Park is located in the Oak Lawn neighborhood of Dallas, Texas along Turtle Creek. The park’s amenities included Reverchon Ballpark – a full-size baseball diamond with historic steel grandstands and stone restrooms. After many years of neglect, the ballpark was not up to current codes and sport standards, restrooms were inadequate, and none of the facilities met accessibility standards. 

DSGN was commissioned to build a team to research the history of the ballpark, assess its condition, and develop Scope Documents to guide its renovation to achieve a modern sporting facility. All of the work was to be compatible with the standards of the Secretary of the Interior.

DSGN assembled a team of historians, engineers, landscape architects, graphic designers, and public outreach consultants to tackle this many-faceted project. The team held multiple public meetings to gain insight and feedback from the highly diverse community. These insightful meetings kept the City and the public informed of public concerns and preferences.

Guided by the input from this in-depth process, DSGN prepared conceptual designs, documented in a Design Criteria Package, as a standard a Design-Build team could use to develop the construction documents required to construct the facility improvements.
